Winslow

Winslow – housing approved and rejected, appeal expected

Aylesbury Vale’s planning committee approved 250 homes on land adjacent to Furze Lane, Winslow. The development is in line with the emerging Winslow neighbourhood plan. The same committee yet again threw out a bid by Gladman developments for more than 200 houses on land at Glebe Farm, off Verney Road.

Gladman has been singularly unsuccessful into its planning applications in Winslow, which have conflicted with the neighbourhood plan and the draft Vale of Aylesbury Plan. However, a planning inspector forced Aylesbury to withdraw its plan last month. Gladman may well decide to appeal last week’s decision. It will want to see if it can get unplanned, greenfield developments approved by planning inspectors under the controversial presumption in favour of sustainable development  in the National Planning Policy Framework.
